The investigation of plant life suggested that worldhood does not depend upon brains, language, or reflective consciousness. Distinctions become significant, significance organises activity, and activity acquires continuity through time. Artificial intelligence raises the same question from a different direction. Contemporary systems possess language, learn from interaction, preserve information, and increasingly participate in the organisation of human significance, while differing in important ways from biological forms of life. This paper approaches artificial intelligence not through the traditional problem of machine consciousness but through the concepts of distinction, significance, interaction, and worldhood developed throughout the Worldhood research program. The central question is not whether machines think or become conscious, but under what conditions distinctions become significant, and significance becomes organised into a coherent field of relevance. The investigation explores how distinctions become significant, how significance is reorganised through self-maintenance and interaction, and how continuity emerges across human and artificial systems. It argues that artificial intelligence increasingly participates in the formation of human worlds by influencing attention, communication, creativity, and the organisation of what matters, thereby raising questions of responsibility that precede questions of machine consciousness. Rather than resolving the problem of artificial worldhood, the paper seeks to clarify the conditions under which such a question becomes meaningful. In doing so, it extends the broader claim of the Worldhood framework: that consciousness presupposes worldhood, and worldhood presupposes the organisation of significance.
