Background: A Vandhyatva (infertility) is a significant reproductive health problem affecting both males and females. Ayurveda considers defects in Ritu, Kshetra, Ambu, and Beeja as the fundamental causes of infertility. Disturbances in Artava, Shukra, Garbhashaya, and Artavavaha Srotas due to Vata-Kapha Dosha, Dhatukshaya, Agnimandya, and Srotorodha contribute to impaired fertility. Anovulatory cycles, one of the common causes of female infertility, can be understood in Ayurveda as Artava Dushti resulting from Apana Vata Vaigunya and obstruction of reproductive channels.
