Abstract

PCG Academia has joined the DataCite Registered Service Provider Program, expanding support for DataCite DOI registration across DSpace communities. This blog post describes how PCG Academia integrates DSpace’s native DOI functionality with the DataCite REST API and maps repository metadata to the DataCite Metadata Schema. Using the University of Zurich’s ZORA repository as an example, it highlights how direct DOI registration can improve metadata quality, strengthen connections between research outputs, people, and organizations, and help institutions assess the reach and impact of their research through DataCite services.
