Before 2026, the framework was argued in published theory and tested in paint across figures, still life, interiors, redacted documents, and landscape. This essay examines a site-scale case: five wetland paintings completed as a body of work during the Arte y Naturaleza residency at Tablas de Daimiel National Park (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain), a Spanish National Park, Ramsar wetland, and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (La Mancha Húmeda, 1980). Organizers selected the artist for the framework’s epistemic claims, not landscape spectacle. A state jury awarded the Grand Prize, Art and Nature Award (2026) on the body of work, with remarks connecting the paintings to underground peat fire, wetland fragility, and iron-oxide grounds. The argument is that partial knowing is the structural condition at conservation sites where publics practice scenic completion: treating lush wetland images as if they delivered the whole story. Representational painting can make that limit visible in the architecture of the image without functioning as ecological documentation or environmental advocacy. The essay situates the Tablas body of work within prior articulations of Structural Omission and distinguishes this claim from residency field writing on the same site.
