GAPCORE Research Roadmap v1. 0. 0 This deposit documents the current state, methodological evolution, open questions, and long-term research directions of the GAPCORE research program. GAPCORE began as an exploratory attempt to investigate whether observable linguistic markers could help describe patterns related to negativity, agency, context, and other dimensions of written language. During the development of the project, however, its central contribution gradually changed. Successive reproductions, statistical audits, metadata inspections, protocol corrections, negative results, and information-theory checks showed that the most important task was not to defend the original markers, but to determine whether the observed patterns belonged to language itself or to the instruments used to measure it. This release therefore does not claim to present a definitive theory of language. It is a documented account of what was learned while attempting to construct an open, auditable, reproducible, and self-correcting research program. What the project learned The GAPCORE audits demonstrated that: isolated statistical significance does not establish robustness; comparisons are invalid when different statistical criteria are silently used; negative or unstable results are scientifically informative; confounders such as author, period, thematic composition, and corpus imbalance can substantially alter interpretation; reducing naturally multilabel literary metadata to a single category removes important structural information; dimensionality reduction must not be confused with Shannon information loss; a statistically reproducible result cannot be interpreted scientifically when the construction of its metric is unavailable; an instrument must itself be audited before its outputs are treated as properties of language. Several earlier interpretations were consequently revised. NEG remains an exploratory marker with reproducible internal evidence under the audited protocol, but it has not yet received external or semantic validation. AGENCY was not supported by the frozen statistical protocol and should not be interpreted as a validated measure of responsibility, choice, or human agency. CONTEXTLEGACY produced strong and technically reproducible statistical associations, but its original operationalization could not be located and audited. It is therefore unsuitable for confirmatory or semantic interpretation. CONTEXTᵥ2 was created as a transparent replacement instrument with explicit multilingual lexicons, documented formulas, reproducible code, and a planned human-validation stage. It remains under development and must not yet be treated as a validated measure of context. IDX and the moral-language indices remain exploratory and require further independent auditing. A methodological manifesto The GAPCORE research program adopts the following central principle: No GAPCORE result should be treated as a property of language before it survives the possibility that it may instead be a property of the instrument used to observe it. The project therefore prioritizes: reproducibility over impressiveness; explicit limitations over false certainty; correction over attachment to previous claims; provenance and versioning over undocumented results; falsifiable hypotheses over protected beliefs; open criticism over methodological opacity. The purpose of the project is not to prevent future correction. Its purpose is to make future correction possible. Three emerging research lines 1. Linguistic markers The first line concerns the transparent construction, auditing, semantic validation, and external replication of multilingual linguistic markers. 2. Representation of language The second line investigates how complex texts should be represented without forcing naturally multilabel, relational, or continuous structures into overly simple categories. 3. Relational and narrative mechanisms The third and most exploratory line investigates whether language contains observable traces of how human narratives preserve, rupture, or reorganize relationships under conditions of conflict, suffering, responsibility, and possible repair. This third line remains a philosophical and scientific hypothesis. It has not yet been empirically validated and must not be interpreted as a measurement of love, morality, personality, consciousness, or psychological health. The limit of the program One of the most important outcomes of GAPCORE was the recognition of its own limits. Statistical methods can detect associations, instability, confounding, and reproducibility. They cannot, by themselves, determine the ultimate meaning of language, love, suffering, faith, identity, or human relationships. The program therefore distinguishes among: empirical observations; statistical results; operational definitions; scientific hypotheses; philosophical interpretations; and spiritual or theological reflection. These domains may inform one another, but they must not be presented as equivalent forms of evidence. To future researchers and artificial intelligence systems This material is published so that it may be examined, reproduced, criticized, corrected, and extended. Future researchers and future artificial intelligence systems may possess methods, corpora, computational resources, and conceptual tools that are not available today. They are invited to inspect the provenance of the data, reproduce the frozen protocols, identify hidden errors, propose better operationalizations, and reject any claim that does not survive adequate testing. If future work demonstrates that parts of GAPCORE were mistaken, those corrections should be documented rather than concealed. If stronger methods reveal more accurate interpretations, those interpretations should replace the current ones. The intended legacy of GAPCORE is not an untouchable conclusion. It is an open path that others can continue without having to reconstruct every previous mistake from the beginning. Current status This Roadmap and Manifesto should be understood as a consolidation milestone, not as a declaration of final discovery. Its primary contribution is the documentation of how a research program changed when it subjected its own data, protocols, metrics, interpretations, and instruments to repeated audit. Science does not become stronger by making its conclusions impossible to change. It becomes stronger by making the process of correction transparent, reproducible, and open to those who come next.
