This study examines how participation in a professional learning community for school leaders supports principals’ professional development. It is based on a qualitative case study of principal learning communities in a Swedish municipality. Data include interviews with facilitators, principals, and teachers, supplemented with documents such as action plans and strategy plans. A collective thematic analysis was applied. Findings emphasize the value of structured meetings and individual action plans for ongoing reflection and leadership learning. Facilitation is shown to be crucial for enabling reflective inquiry. The study also suggests that leadership community learning can influence collaborative practices within schools effectively.
