EXPRESSION OF CONCERN: A. Kurihara, H. Nagoshi, M. Yabuki, R. Okuyama, M. Obinata and S. Ikawa, “ Ser46 Phosphorylation of p53 Is Not Always Sufficient to Induce Apoptosis: Multiple Mechanisms of Regulation of p53-Dependent Apoptosis,” Genes to Cells 12, no. 7 (2007): 853–861, https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1365-2443.2007.01097.x. This Expression of Concern is for the above article, published online on 20 June 2007 in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com), and has been issued by agreement between the journal Editor-in-Chief, Tadashi Uemura; The Molecular Biology Society of Japan; and John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd. The Expression of Concern has been agreed following concerns raised by a third party. An investigation identified apparent duplication between bands in the p53 ser20 panel of the IP anti-p53 experiment and bands in the p53 panel of the lysate experiment shown in Figure 2A. The authors were contacted to provide original data and an explanation but did not respond. As the conclusions are not believed to be affected, the journal has issued this Expression of Concern to inform and alert readers about these concerns.
