Abstract
ACUTE PROMYELOCYTIC leukemia (APL) is a distinct subtype of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), identified by the French-American-British classification as AML-M311 and cytogenetically characterized by the balanced reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 15 and 17. Patients with the common
