The authors describe how National Power is planning to build a 100 MWh Regenesys(TM) energy storage plant at Didcot power station in the UK. The plant will occupy a compact site of less than 0.5 hectares, be housed in a low-rise building and, in respect of its energy storage capacity, will be the largest energy storage plant of its type in the world. Construction work will start in 1999 and will be completed late in 2000.
