JoAnn E. Manson, MD, MPH, DrPH, is Chief of the Division of Preventive Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Professor of Medicine and the Michael and Lee Bell Professor of Women’s Health at Harvard Medical School, and Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a physician epidemiologist and endocrinologist who serves as Principal Investigator or co-PI of studies including the Women’s Health Initiative Clinical Center in Boston, the cardiovascular component of the Nurses’ Health Study, the VITAL trial, and the COSMOS trial. Her research focuses on randomized trials of nutritional and lifestyle factors related to heart disease, diabetes, cognitive decline, and cancer, as well as the role of endogenous and exogenous estrogens.
