Joseph A. Vita was a Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and Director of the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center at Boston Medical Center. He served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Heart Association from 2011 until his death in 2014. He previously held faculty positions at Brigham and Women's Hospital and was involved in research on vascular function and cardiovascular risk factors.
