The construction industry is a major contributor to energy consumption and carbon emissions, making it a focal point in global efforts to mitigate climate change. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) research in the construction industry up to the year 2023. Utilizing data from the Scopus database, the review examines publication trends, key journals, geographic distribution, and emerging research clusters in the field. The analysis reveals a significant increase in LCA research output over the past decade, driven by growing international concern over environmental issues and climate change. The findings indicate that the United States has been a leading contributor to LCA research, with China showing a substantial increase in contributions since 2020. The research has notably shifted towards interdisciplinary and comprehensive environmental assessments. The results highlight the evolving nature of LCA research and its crucial role in promoting sustainable building practices globally. This review provides valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers aiming to enhance sustainability in the construction industry.
