Abstract. The phenomenon of celebrity worship is common in K-pop fandom culture and may lead to negative behaviors such as cyber aggression, which refers to verbal aggression on social media. This study aims to examine the relationship between celebrity worship and cyber aggression, as well as to explore whether self-control serves as a moderating variable. This research employed a quantitative correlational non-experimental approach, involving 284 K-pop fans aged 20–28 years. Instruments used include the Celebrity Attitude Scale, Cyber-Aggression Typology Questionnaire, and Brief Self-Control Scale. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between borderline pathological levels of celebrity worship and cyber aggression. Additionally, self-control was found to have a negative correlation with cyber aggression. However, the moderation analysis showed that self-control did not significantly moderate the relationship between celebrity worship and cyber aggression. These findings highlight the importance of self-control as a protective factor in reducing the tendency for aggressive online behavior resulting from excessive emotional attachment to idols.
