Motivation: Cardiac motion affects liver DWI, particularly in the left lobe, leading to signal loss and overestimation of ADC values. Current solutions are either time-consuming or compromise image quality. Goal(s): To develop and evaluate Diffusion PLUS, a novel DWI sequence that improves motion robustness while reducing scan time Approach: The Diffusion PLUS technique employs optimized slice ordering and physiology-led triggering to address both cardiac and respiratory motion in liver DWI without prolonging TE. Results: Diffusion PLUS achieved motion-robust, whole-liver DWI with clinically feasible scan times, offering a promising alternative for routine liver pathology assessments. Impact: Diffusion PLUS improves liver DWI by providing fast scans with reliable image quality. It offers a practical option in the clinical environment and may enhance diagnostic accuracy for liver lesions, particularly in the left lobe.
