This paper takes the renovation project of the Jihai Railway Heritage Park in Jilin City as the research object and deeply explores the planning strategies, implementation paths and social and economic benefits of transforming industrial heritage into urban public space. This project, through the creative renovation of the century-old section of the Shenyang-Jilin Railway in the urban area of Jilin, has constructed a 10-kilometer-long linear park, which has become a green corridor connecting the city's historical context with modern ecological functions. The research adopted a method combining field investigation and literature analysis to systematically analyze the application of the four core strategies of "retention, renovation, demolition and expansion", and evaluated their comprehensive benefits in terms of integrating urban space, improving regional transportation efficiency and activating the cultural and tourism industry. The results show that this project not only resolves the contradiction between industrial heritage protection and urban development, but also provides a replicable model for the urban renewal of old industrial areas in Northeast China, which has significant reference value for similar projects across the country.
