This article examines the economic outcomes of inefficient land use, focusing on the assessment of losses resulting from land resource degradation. Land degradation is recognized as one of the most severe environmental challenges, leading to decreased agricultural productivity, increased restoration costs, and adverse social consequences. The study analyzes the primary drivers of degradation, including both anthropogenic and natural factors, as well as methods for assessing the economic losses associated with land deterioration. Based on the analysis, recommendations for improving land management are proposed, such as the adoption of modern technologies, enhancing landowner awareness, and the development of effective management strategies. The findings highlight the importance of sustainable land use for ensuring food security and stable economic development. This research can be valuable for scholars in the fields of ecology and economics, as well as for practitioners involved in land resource management.
