This paper had as its starting point the theme of Instructional Design (ID) and the objective was to present the fundamentals, importance and challenges of implementing this design, pointing out how technologies contribute and enrich the teaching-learning process. Studying ID is important because technological innovations have caused transformations in people's lives (in communication, work, among others) and it is important that learning designs are included in education with which people study in accordance with their availability of resources. time and need to assimilate knowledge. Therefore, we opted for bibliographical research to collect relevant data and information on the topic under study. The main results obtained showed that DI, when well designed, facilitates ways of learning and teaching in a context where the methodologies and traditional configuration of formal schools are no longer attractive, therefore, it is necessary to innovate and use technologies and their resources to make the educational process accessible and meaningful with active methodologies.
