Although children's participation in decision-making is an established right, they are often invisibilized in decision-making processes, including those that will affect the quality of their lives. The aim of this study is to explore the repercussions of physical-spatial transformations with children aged between 9 and 10 living in the Morro do Papagaio Favela (Belo Horizonte, Brazil). To this end, interviews, photoelicitation and participant observation were carried out. The inductive thematic analysis of the data revealed the value of physical-spatial transformations as a practice that allows children to exercise their rights to participation, sociability, play, freedom, education, use of public spaces and beauty.
