The article examines the problems of statehood formation among the Karluks, their political history as part of the Turkic Khaganate, and relations with neighboring Central Asian states. The issues of expanding the limits of the Karluks in the region and their impact on the ethnopolitical situation in Central Asia are studied. The study focuses on the relationship of the Karluk tribal confederations with the Arab and Chinese conquerors.
