Organised by Diabetes UK–a leading charity providing important information and resources to people living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and funder of research–the Diabetes UK Professional Conference took place at the ExCeL centre in London on April 17–19, 2024. The continuing professional development-accredited programme offered a range of multidisciplinary content aimed at health-care professionals, researchers, and scientists. Through seminars, named lectures, abstracts, sponsored symposia, and workshops, the programme delivered up-to-date knowledge on a variety of topics, such as the delivery of integrated diabetes care, diabetes-related complications (eg, renal, liver, cardiovascular, retinal, and oral), developments in diabetes technology and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis and management of diabetes, inequalities in diabetes research and care, stigma, women's health, and the complex relationship between diabetes and psychological disease.
