Abstract This study was conducted in the northeastern part of Khan Bani Saad area, located within the administrative borders of the Governorate. Using geospatial techniques, the area is located within longitudes.) E ‘57 ‘35’ 44 0 E–’19 ‘37 44 0 (and latitudes) N’30 ‘37’ 33 0 - N’58’ 40’ 33 0 (and an area of (11.862) ha. The field survey was conducted on 30 random samples with a depth of 0-0.3 m for each sample and using the Global Positioning System (GIS). This study was carried out to determine the reasons for the expansion of lands affected by salt and the effect of salinity on some chemical characteristics of the soil. The results of the study region indicated that all values were within the range of values for saline soils. So, the results showed a positive relationship between ECe and dissolved ions, the values of ECe ranged from (107-4) dS m-1. also, the results of the region study indicated a nearly inverse relationship between ECe and pH, with sample values ranging from (7.1 to 8.38). addition to that, The study results showed an opposite relationship between O.M and CaSO 4 .2H 2 O, with values ranging from (0.13-1.70) g kg-1, (3.20-14.00)g kg-1 and 8 to 8, respectively, Note that there was no clear relationship between ECe and CaCO 3 , as the values ranged from (212.5-425.00) g kg-1.and negative ion content.
