This study attempted to suggest makeup specialists appropriate makeup techniques which can make up for facial asymmetry for those who find it hard to do makeup due to the unbalanced facial features. To unveil differences before and after makeup in 8 testees with facial asymmetry, the photos taken before and after such makeup were compared. Then, the four purposes of this study were achieved: First, the theoretical background of asymmetrical makeup was examined by analyzing the concept of makeup and the current situations, causes and types of facial asymmetry. Second, makeup which can cover facial asymmetry was performed against adult women in their 30s. Third, the effects of the asymmetrical makeup were analyzed by comparing the results before and after the makeup. Fourth, this study reviewed the products and techniques used during the makeup, suggesting practical makeup techniques.
