Legislation can influence the Heat Island effect of cities. Urban geopolitics addresses questions about plans and projects for the city, as well as direct action on the territory.Considering the territorial extension and population density of the city of São Paulo, the climate impact on urban plans is paramount for the inhabitant.This study seeks to systematize information obtained from research that allows identifying the state of the art related to planning and the urban heat island of the city of São Paulo, including the area where the Mirante de Santana Meteorological Station is installed, due to its historical and to the threat of interference in their physical space.The bibliometric mapping and organization of sample research data made it possible to understand the relevance of legislation in the form and use of urban land while also suggesting the carrying out of more studies on the topic.
