Introduction. The current conditions of military and political instability are radically transforming the competitive environment of enterprises, creating new challenges for ensuring their competitiveness and sustainable functioning. Problem Statement. In the conditions of Ukraine, which is experiencing a full-scale war, the issue of ensuring competitiveness is becoming particularly relevant, since enterprises are forced to simultaneously confront military challenges and maintain their competitive positions in the domestic and foreign markets. The purpose is to develop practical recommendations for ensuring the competitiveness of enterprises in conditions of military and political instability based on a comprehensive analysis of influencing factors, adaptation mechanisms and sustainable development strategies in extreme operating conditions. Results. The article examines the features of ensuring the competitiveness of enterprises in conditions of military-political instability, which leads to the transformation of market relations, the destruction of established business models and the intensification of competition at all levels of the economic system. It is substantiated that traditional approaches to the formation of competitive advantages in war conditions lose their effectiveness due to the high level of uncertainty, information asymmetry, destabilization of logistics and production chains, loss of resource base, increase in operating costs and cardinal changes in consumer behavior. It is established that the competitiveness of an enterprise in war conditions is determined not only by economic parameters, but also by the ability to quickly adapt, organizational flexibility, strategic mobility and innovative activity. A typology of adaptive competitiveness strategies has been developed, including operational, market, financial, technological and organizational areas, as well as an integration model of their interaction. Special attention is paid to the strategic management cycle in times of crisis, which includes strategic analysis, goal setting, development of an adaptive strategy, its implementation and dynamic adjustment. A SWOT analysis of the impact of military-political factors on the potential of enterprises to maintain competitiveness has been conducted. Conclusions. Practical recommendations have been proposed for the formation of strategic reserves, risk diversification, development of digital tools, organizational transformation and interaction with state and international partners. Promising areas of further research have been identified, related to the interdisciplinary assessment of enterprise adaptability, the creation of an adaptive competitiveness index and the development of models for predicting business sustainability in a prolonged crisis. The results of the study have scientific and practical significance for improving strategic management in times of systemic threats.
