Abstract

Mohamad Mostafa will participate virtually in the panel discussion “Aligning Pakistan’s Open Science Strategy with Global PID Infrastructure” during the Open Access Week in Pakistan event, hosted by XploreOpen, the Higher Education Commission Pakistan, and the Scientific and Technological Information Center, taking place online on 14–15 November 2025. He will highlight DataCite’s role in advancing equitable and inclusive research infrastructure across regions. In his presentation, titled “Enabling Open Science in Pakistan through DataCite,” Mohamad will emphasize how persistent identifiers (PIDs)—such as DOIs provided by DataCite—play a crucial role in enhancing research visibility, interoperability, and long-term accessibility. He will also share global and regional use cases demonstrating how national research communities are adopting open infrastructure to align with the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science and foster collaboration, transparency, and innovation.
