Abstract: Drawing on the careful analysis of the music and the professional trajectory of the female Cuban rap group La Reyna y La Real, this article analyzes their political positionality as Black, feminist rappers and actors of change both in the hip-hop community and in Cuban society. Additionally, this article examines the overlapping identities that informs the lives and the work of these women-rappers in the Caribbean nation, which in turn underpins their music and their poetics as a duo.
