Background: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and dyspeptic symptoms affect a significant portion of the global population, leading many patients to seek complementary and alternative remedies alongside conventional treatments. This paper analyzes the potential scientific basis for a traditional multi-component beverage reported to provide symptomatic relief of heartburn. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to examine the bioactive properties of each ingredient in a traditional remedy composed of raw potato (Solanum tuberosum), raw carrot, tomato, raw egg, sugar, and milk. Mechanistic pathways were analyzed in terms of gastric acid neutralization, mucosal protection, and anti-inflammatory activity. Results: Raw potato juice demonstrated the strongest evidence base, with clinical trials showing a 41.9% improvement in dyspeptic symptoms through alkaline buffering and anti-inflammatory mechanisms. Complementary components — including carrot fiber, milk proteins, and egg albumin — contribute to acid buffering and mucosal coating. However, certain ingredients — such as tomato acidity, risk of raw egg contamination, and high sugar content — pose potential contraindications. Conclusions: While individual components exhibit mechanistic plausibility for relieving GERD symptoms, the specific combination lacks evidence from randomized controlled trials. Raw potato juice emerges as the most likely active ingredient, supported by limited clinical data. Safety concerns, including those related to raw egg consumption and solanine toxicity, warrant caution. Further controlled studies are needed to validate the efficacy and safety of this preparation.
