Identifying priority areas for coral reef ecosystem rehabilitation within marine conservation zones involves integrating oceanographic conditions, remote sensing and GIS data, coral reef ecology, and socio- economic factors. This integration is structured into a framework and implemented in the Regional Marine Conservation Area (KKPD) of Pulau Pasi Gusung, Selayar Regency, South Sulawesi. Coral reef rehabilitation efforts in the area consist of an active approach covering 1.113 ha (2.02%), a passive approach covering 42.287 ha (76.62%), and a mixed approach covering 11.789 ha (21.36%) out of a total reef area of 55.189 ha. The predominance of the passive approach suggests not only a high natural recovery capacity of the coral reefs but also indicates a high level of coral recruitment within the conservation zone.
