ABSTRACT As a critical reactive oxygen species (ROS), hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) plays a significant role in regulating oxidative stress, which closely relates to various human diseases. Therefore, it is of great significance to sensitively detect H 2 O 2 and elucidate its physiological function. Herein, a fluorescent probe was present for detecting H 2 O 2 in living cells and zebrafish. It exhibited highly selective and sensitive responses in the presence of H 2 O 2 with a detection limit of 142.18 nM. The probe was successfully applied to detect endogenous and exogenous H 2 O 2 in living cells and zebrafish. All the results in this work demonstrated that the probe was a powerful tool for detecting H 2 O 2 and exploring the roles of H 2 O 2 in various physiological and pathological processes.
