Vascular streak dieback (VSD) has recently become a significant issue affecting woody ornamental production, with Eastern redbud increasingly impacted in the United States. Plants affected by VSD typically show symptoms such as foliar scorch, shoot dieback, and internal vascular discoloration that appear as a marbled pattern when stems are cross-sectioned. This study examined the performance of fungicide treatments for suppressing VSD in eastern redbud under field conditions in McMinnville, Tennessee. Disease development was monitored through evaluations of leaf scorch, defoliation, and phytotoxic responses, and treatment effects were compared using the area under the disease progress curve. Findings from this work provide practical information to aid U.S. nursery growers in managing VSD more effectively.
