Aims and Backgrounds: The success of a rhinoplasty procedure is dictated by complete understanding of nasal surgical anatomy and keen patient assessment. Conscientious surgeons will create realistic expectations for patients based on the anatomy in front of them and their surgical expertise. The surgical consultation frames both patient and surgeon goals with the ultimate objective of creating a shared vision, which can be achieved in the operating room. Conclusions and Clinical Relevance: Reproducible photography and excellent physical examination are key elements of rhinoplasty assessment. They enable the surgeon to focus on functional and aesthetic components of the nose and the rhinoplasty procedure. The nasal tip is complex and requires surgeons to analyze the dynamics, structure, and resultant implications of their surgical modifications. Considerations of the individual and their identity in society further promote the realization of preoperative goals for the nasal tip.
