Egyptian business research often grapples with policy tensions that affect its development trajectory. These tensions arise from a complex interplay of national and international policies, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics. The study employs an ethnographic approach, conducting participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document review among key stakeholders including academics, policymakers, and industry leaders. Findings indicate that approximately 60% of the respondents experienced significant policy barriers affecting their research projects. These include bureaucratic delays in obtaining necessary approvals, varying interpretation of regulatory requirements across sectors, and inconsistent enforcement of policies. The ethnographic findings underscore the critical role of policy harmonization and clarity for enhancing the quality and relevance of Egyptian business research. Recommendations include advocating for more transparent and consistent policy implementation by government bodies and fostering greater collaboration between academia and policymakers to align research objectives with regulatory needs.
