In Oran, public spaces are not always approached holistically and they are often considered in a fragmented way within urban planning practices. This study explores how a participatory approach, involving citizens in design and management processes, could improve public space development. A questionnaire survey of 201 Oran residents reveals that, although citizen involvement remains limited, it has significant potential for addressing urban challenges. The study concludes that effectively engaging inhabitants is key to fostering more inclusive and sustainable urban governance.
