Recent climate changes in the Sahel region of Ghana have led to increased drought frequency and intensity, affecting agricultural productivity and food security. An action research approach was employed, involving participatory workshops and surveys with local communities to gather qualitative insights into climate change impacts and coping strategies. Participants reported a significant decline in agricultural yields by approximately 30% over the past decade due to erratic rainfall patterns. Community health indicators showed an increase in malnutrition cases by 25% The findings underscore the urgent need for integrated climate adaptation and resilience-building measures tailored to local contexts. Local authorities should prioritise early warning systems, water harvesting structures, and nutrition programmes to mitigate future vulnerabilities. Community-led initiatives focused on sustainable agricultural practices are also recommended.
