Regional economic blocs have emerged as significant drivers of development in Africa, influencing regional dynamics through trade liberalization and integration policies. The study employs an analytical framework that examines historical data, economic indicators, and policy documents related to ARECs, focusing on their effects on Guinea-Bissau's trade patterns and economic growth. Findings indicate a significant increase in Guinea-Bissau's exports to neighboring countries within the ECOWAS bloc compared to non-ECOWAS regions, highlighting the bloc's role in enhancing regional integration. The study underscores the importance of ARECs for facilitating economic growth and stability in Africa's smallest nation-states like Guinea-Bissau. Policy recommendations include fostering closer ties with existing regional blocs and exploring potential membership opportunities to maximise benefits from continental economic integration.
