Disease Management and Vaccination Programmes in Ethiopian Rural Livestock: A Review of Health Status Changes

The review aims to assess health status changes in rural livestock populations of Ethiopia over a decade. A systematic literature search was conducted using databases relevant to veterinary medicine. Studies were assessed based on inclusion criteria related to the study period and interventions implemented. Significant improvements in animal health status were noted, with a 45% reduction in disease prevalence reported across various livestock types. Vaccination programmes have been effective in mitigating common livestock diseases in rural Ethiopia over the reviewed period. Continued vaccination efforts and integrated disease management strategies should be prioritised to further enhance animal health outcomes. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
