Adolescents in Nigerian urban slums face significant mental health challenges due to socio-economic hardships such as poverty and limited access to healthcare services. Qualitative interviews were conducted with adolescents who participated in structured mental health programmes, involving semi-structured questionnaires to gather data on treatment adherence and post-intervention psychosocial status. The findings suggest that while adherence rates are relatively low, significant psychosocial benefits can be achieved through sustained mental health interventions. Further research should focus on developing strategies to enhance treatment adherence and explore the long-term sustainability of these programmes within urban slum settings.
