Abstract

Background DISH (Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis) is a metabolic disorder characterized by calcification and ossification of soft tissues. The prevalence of DISH increases with age, and issues such as pseudoarthrosis following vertebral fractures associated with DISH are emerging as significant concerns. This study investigated the prevalence of DISH and the impact of participant-related factors in randomly selected elderly residents of towns and cities.
