Correlation Between Small Dense Low-Density Lipoprotein and Tissue Perfusion in Diabetic Foot
Key Points
Significant correlation between sdLDL levels and tissue perfusion is observed with TcPO₂ ≥ 40 mmHg and not below.
50% of diabetic feet with TcPO₂ levels above 40 mmHg show higher sdLDL link to improved blood flow.
Observational analysis of tissue perfusion assessments indicates clear thresholds for clinical relevance in diabetes management.
Highlights that monitoring sdLDL may help assess foot health in patients with diabetes, but results may vary.
Abstract
This study identified a significant correlation between sdLDL levels and tissue perfusion in diabetic feet with TcPO₂ ≥ 40 mmHg, but no significant correlation in those with TcPO₂ < 40 mmHg.
