Resource Description: This Education Transfer Plan was developed through a Research Experience for Teachers program funded by the National Science Foundation Directorate for Biological Sciences, where teachers conducted summer research in biology laboratories. This Unit Plan was developed within the context of the teachers project Exceptions to the Glucose Effect: Investigating Lactose Preference in Atypical E. coli Strains working in the Cremer Lab at Stanford University. Overall, the unit plan connects the teachers research experience to their classroom through teacher-generated authentic activities that engage students in scientific practices such as making observations, collecting and analyzing data, and making sense of phenomena.
