A Study on Key Recovery of Lightweight Block Cipher LEA Using Round Addition DFA
Key Points
Successful key recovery was achieved for LEA-128 and LEA-192 through round addition DFA.
With two fault injections, 192 bits of the secret key for LEA-256 were partially derived.
Key recovery utilized fault injection techniques, revealing potential weaknesses in the LEA cipher.
These findings may highlight the need for improved security measures in lightweight block ciphers.
Abstract
We applied round addition DFA to LEA, and with two fault injections, successfully derived the secret key for LEA-128 and LEA-192, and partially derived 192 bits of the secret key for LEA-256.
