The present paper reports a series of findings and results obtained in the project MAP-UP-P2X, financed by the European Union, and the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia within the Just Transition Funds program. The study investigates a series of process alternatives, with focus on CO2 valorization and syn-fuels production. In the article, authors have specifically focused on the Ostrobothnia Region in Finland. The goal of this study is to give feasible options with respect to a regional implementation of circularity. Diverse options are assessed with respect to energy intensification and their feasibility. Our study finds that a proper integration of diverse technologies could deliver feasible and economical options in regard to fuels like methane and methanol.
