This thesis investigates travel advice with personal narratives that solo female travelers share on TikTok, with a focus on Italy. Digital platforms like TikTok have emerged as important spaces for women to share advice on safety, as the number of women travelling alone keeps increasing. The main topics and methods used by solo female creators to assist others in overcoming the challenges of travelling alone are identified in this study through a thematic analysis of 18 TikTok videos. According to the findings, travel advice posted on TikTok reflects societal concerns about visibility, empowerment, and protection in both digital and physical spaces, going beyond simple advice. This thesis emphasises how knowledge is influenced by shared gendered experiences and the necessity of community-driven support by focusing on tips rather than just first-person travel experiences. In addition to providing insight into the changing importance of short-form content in travel discussion, this research advances our understanding of digital tourist cultures.
