Within the EUROTeV Collaboration the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) took over responsibility for the design of bunch compressor chicanes and turn around loops required at the main beam line and the drive beam line of the multi-TeV compact linear collider (CLIC). These chicanes and loops should be optimized regarding to emittance growth induced by incoherent synchrotron radiation (ISR) and coherent synchrotron radiation (CSR). Additionally, in the loops emittance dilution due to chromatic effects must be considered. Most of the work relies on beam dynamics simulations including the before-mentioned effects. In only a few cases, e.g. the CSR micro-bunch instability, analytic formulas can be used. We report on the results of the design work and present beam lines optimized for the use at CLIC.
