Digital cultural heritage in Guinea faces significant challenges due to resource limitations, including inadequate infrastructure, low digital literacy rates among the population, and limited government investment. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from surveys with qualitative insights gathered through interviews and focus group discussions with stakeholders involved in digital preservation initiatives. The findings indicate a significant gap between the number of digitized cultural artifacts available online (30%) compared to those stored locally on physical media, highlighting the need for increased digital resource allocation. Despite initial challenges, there is potential for enhancing and expanding digital preservation efforts in Guinea with targeted interventions focusing on capacity building and policy alignment. Recommendations include developing a national digital preservation strategy, investing in public education programmes to improve digital literacy, and establishing partnerships between government entities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
