The coding manual reports on scoring procedures carried out on fourth graders' digital storybooks. Within a specially developed instructional unit, students created multimedia stories using a tablet. Those stories were scored for several aspects of media and creative learning. The coding manual gives insight into the developmental process of the coding manual, the categories and their associated guidelines, and reports on inter-rater reliabili-ties. In the following, we give a short description of the research interest and introduce the corresponding instructional unit (Chapter 1). Chapter 2 gives detailed information on the development of the coding manual, including inter-rater reliabilities. Chapter 3 presents the evaluation categories, each with guidelines and examples, if applicable.
