This working paper presents the Assisted Successional Reforestation Protocol (ASR), an operational methodology for establishing forest ecosystems through assisted ecological succession. The protocol integrates agronomic soil restoration techniques with ecological succession processes in order to improve the resilience and long-term stability of reforestation systems. The methodology is structured in three main phases:(1) herbaceous soil regeneration,(2) pioneer shrub establishment,(3) progressive introduction of native forest species. The document represents a preliminary formalization of the method and is intended as a technical contribution to ongoing discussions on nature-based solutions, ecological restoration and climate mitigation strategies.
