Abstract The term yoga originates from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to yoke,” “to unite,” or “to join.” In Vedic and post-Vedic literature, yoga conveys both literal and figurative meanings, symbolizing disciplined effort, purposeful application, and spiritual integration. Yoga is a traditional system developed by ancient Indian sages to regulate bodily functions and control the mind. The Yoga in Daily Life system emphasizes holistic development through physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being. Regular yoga practice enhances physical fitness, mental clarity, emotional balance, and stress management. It improves flexibility, strength, respiration, circulation, and metabolic functioning, while also promoting inner harmony and mental peace. In the modern era, where sedentary lifestyles and stress-related disorders are increasing, yoga provides a simple, cost-effective, and sustainable solution for maintaining health. This paper highlights the role of yoga as an effective approach to achieving and sustaining a healthy lifestyle.
