Population

30 obese children and adolescents (aged 3 to <18 years), mean age 10.38, 63.3% female, from João Pessoa, Brazil. Inclusion criteria: BMI categorized as obese (Z score ≥ +3 for 3-5 years; ≥ +2 for >5 years). Exclusion criteria: congenital cardiac malformation, use of drugs that could raise BP, and diagnosis of syndromes that elevate BP or lead to obesity.
