Abstract Historically, clinicians have observed or gained the clinical impression that contact lenses had some effect on myopia and/or its progression. However, a review of the literature on the effects of contact lenses upon myopia control reveals conflicting opinions and conclusions. This paper presents a collage of research endeavors, clinical observations, and theory leading to some provisional conclusions.
